This is the question we keep on asking ourselves every day we look around our lives and discover that we still don't have what we have been praying for. In this post we are going to talk about the reasons why we do not receive what we ask for from God.
There are several things which hinder our prayers and most of them we know but in this post we shall dwell on the truth as this is always our will. There are two major reasons why you will not get what you are praying for on top of those other reasons you have in your mind. These are the reasons.
1. As a Man Thinketh in his Heart so He is
Have you ever gone to ask God for something and after praying for hours about it you still hear a certain voice telling you that you are not ready for the same? Now God grants the desires of your heart not mind. Your heart prays louder than your mouth and it is what God hears and looks at. You may be busy praying for God to give a business worthy millions while your heart is just asking for a small job. You will definitely receive the desire of your heart as the scripture says. If you ever want to receive anything you need from God, then let your heart ask for it. This is because the heart knows you better than anyone. It knows what you need and what you do not need. The mind on the other hand is mostly affected by what you see and hear.
You can not do anything to hinder yourself from hearing everything, I mean you can't close your ears and eyes in the name of taking care of your mind unless you are utterly religious. But you can control what goes in to your heart. Your mind has a weak gate but the heart in contrast has a robust one. Anything can go through the mind but has to be screened and approved before entering the heart. If your heart asks for anything thenit will be easier for you to receive it if it passes the second test below.
2. You want everything but don't need everything
Some of the things we ask for are actually not needs but wants. From business studies we know that human wants can never be satisfied because man naturally wants anything they feel is good for them. Now God does not provide what you want unless it has become a need. If he would have been doing so then we would all be owning literally everything on earth. Everyday you come across a smart looking car, you desire and ask God to give it to you. You do not even care on where you will get money to fuel or repair it in case of a break down. You do not even want to know of the costs that are associated with owning one.
Now God knows all this things and knows what is best for you. He gives you what is best for you in his own ways which are not your ways as it is written in his word. By the way you do not even need what you think you need. Needs are recurrent, I mean they come again and again. There is no single day you will say that you have satisfied all needs. You need to eat today and tomorrow also. If God gives you food for today you discover that you will need food for tomorrow and the days to come. Therefore you do not need a single meal to overcome a single day hunger but the power to meet every need.
Conclusion
God does not grant what your mouth says, but what your heart prays. You do not need money to meet your need once but you need Power to meet all needs which come along and the desires of your heart.
