YOU ARE NOT OF THE WORLD

We read in the word of God that we should not love the world, for doing so is becoming enemies with God. But Jesus said that God loved the world so much, that he gave his only son to die on a cross.” He also said that he did not come to condemn the world, but to save it through himself. In his last prayer for the church, he prayed to the father saying “ I do not pray that you take them out of the world but that you may deliver them from the evil one.” Now what is this world he was talking about which he loved and tells us not to love?  Is it the earth? And the items we see like cars, buildings etc?

By no means! It is far much different a thing from the earth we live in. It is a spiritual mystery which many Christians misinterpreted and failed terribly in life. I know of many people who have believed in Jesus and failed because of doing it without understanding that is by using their own power and understanding to learn his word. I mean taking his word literally and applying it in their lives.  It is written in the book of Isaiah “My ways are not your ways neither are my thoughts your thoughts. As the heaven is far from the earth so are my thoughts compared to yours.” Just imagine how far the east is from the west, and how far the heaven is from the earth. This is how high God’s wisdom is and his thoughts are as compared to our thoughts. When he speaks something, man can not understand unless the Holy Spirit helps him. Visualizing this helps us discover how irrelevant our thoughts are, compared to God’s.

I remember one day the lord spoke to me saying “I have heard the cry of my people who are suffering in the hands of their task masters. Arise and I will send you to deliver them” As a human being I started figuring out what God was talking about linking up  situations and places thinking that God was really talking about them only to discover later that I was far from being relevant in my thinking. I thank God that in my struggle he spoke to me concerning his thoughts and mine and discovering how irrelevant I literally was , I changed my mind and started telling the lord to amaze me by revealing the real thing. The following day a representative of a company called me for a Job. I could only laugh at myself because being employed was the last thing I ever thought of in life. I had trusted being self employed a lot more than working for someone.

The world therefore is the environment in which the devil lives. It consists of the LUST of the eyes, The LUSTS of the flesh and the PRIDE of life. The three are the environment of the devil and never exist in the presence of God, the pride of life being boasting of remarkable physical achievements.

Christians will always be in the world till they die but should not make a mistake of being worldly for they are not of the world. The reason why most of them struggle in life is because they try to conform and comply with the patterns of the world they do not belong to.  They are not even worthy to be of the world, neither is the world worthy them, for they draw incompetence from their faith. They live by faith while the world consists of what can be seen. There, is nothing like living by what you can not see but what you able to see. This is the reason why it’s recorded in Hebrews 11:38 that they were not worthy the world.

Many Christian marriages and relationships as well as businesses are in a mess today because they just applied the wrong principle of life, I mean the inappropriate principle. Perhaps you are now finding sense in what  I am saying. If you hunt jobs like the worldly then you will be broken and offended as it pleases the devil. If you seek to marry as the worldly patterns teach then you definitely will go through the stress and pain of marriage. Let yours be founded on the patterns of heaven where you belong and success will be the song of the day. Do not bribe or use fake documents as the worldly do, for this will make you more miserable. You better stop being like one of those of the world and live like Christ from above for you are from above and not of the world.
